About Me

🍑 I'm Neve, or Nevere, or Peachmoon/Peachlantern on forums these days. In the past I was Amaya on forums, so you may see all different signatures on my artwork. It's all me, I promise.

đŸĻ‡ I've been a casual pixel artist for 25+ years; I do it for fun between work, gaming, road trips, and sleep. My personal style is pretty dark and dreary but my art style is just about the opposite. I personally don't look good in saturated colors, but I love working with them in pixel art.

🏜ī¸ I currently live in the Sonoran Desert region of the U.S. Yes, it's hot. I tend to run cold (I'm that person that always has icy skin) so the heat out there is perfect for me. Check out my Desert Life page for more details about the area.

📖 I am an avid bullet journaler. I get that it's supposed to be simple and organized per the creator of the concept, but I failed at that. I love washi tapes, stickers, multicolored highlighters and colored pens; I also have a handful of dot grid journals with designed covers that I'm waiting to use. Working on a bujo makes me feel motivated to mark something off as "completed," and getting to design my page layouts in advance helps with the creativity outlet when I don't feel like being online.

đŸĒˇ Self care is a priority with me. Epsom salt baths and hot tea are parts of a regular routine, as well as lighting scented candles and journaling with stickers for stress relief. Going to bed early happens sometimes; I'm still working on that one.

đŸĢ§ I work adjacent to the medical field so this is a welcomed break from all of that. I *love* talking medical stuff, though. I'm good with anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology is just my JAM. Will there be art of it? Most likely not. I can appreciate others doing it, but I need those sides of my brain to be a little bit separate, I guess.

Current Infatuation:

I want to go to Hawaii so bad. I went once when I was a kid, but that was over 30 years ago. I have no idea where the sudden urge came from, but it definitely influenced Sip Clique's layout in a major way. There's no way that trip will happen this year, but maybe next summer, with enough saving and planning. From what I hear it's going to blow my budget away. Might be worth it, though.

You should know...

I'm partially colorblind; I cannot see reds or browns as they are (they're about the same to me), and orange is becoming difficult. I can tell if they're lighter or darker than each other, but I don't know if they're leaning more toward yellow, orange, etc. This makes skin tones and hair color in pixel art a bit difficult, so please forgive me if I make an odd skin tone or the saturation is ridiculously high; I see colors better this way but I accept that they may look "off". I'm open to critique on my pixel art, especially with color choices, so message away.
